The fourth U.S.S. Philadelphia (C-4) Later (1X-24) was the 6th protected Cruiser of the U. S. Navy. Although designed by the Navy Department, Her hull was similar to the preceding British design Baltimore but Philadelphia had a uniform main armament of twelve 6 inch guns.Namesake; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
