    Description

    For sale is a
    beautiful Antique Sioux (Lakota) Beaded and Quilled Knife Sheath with Dragonfly Motifs from circa the 1880s-1890s.
    The sheath is made of a soft native tanned hide with a rawhide liner, all in good condition, sinew sewn and decorated with glass beads, also
    sinew sewn
    , in a
    bead color combination
    of
    cobalt, white, and greasy yellow in designs representing dragonflies.
    The sheath has a quilled carrying strap and four long elegant quilled hide drops, with metal tinklers and horsehair.
    A very beautiful sheath!
    Some beads, quills and tinklers are lost as is visible in the pictures. The sheath itself measures circa 10" x 3"
