See images for the best details I could capture. I am by no means a "coin expert" but have been collecting coins for the greater portion of my life.I brought this coin into the most reputable coin store in the area, and asked for help in concluding it to be safe for me to declare the condition of this coin, as denoted in the title.
This is a coin that I would submit for grading. My hope is to sell a few of my "prized-possessions" in an attempt to raise capital for having my collection graded.
I obtained this coin at an estate sale, in my local area. The coin was being preserved in, what I assume to be, a PVC flip.
There were no visible traces of any PVC residue, prior to acetone treating the coin (no cotton, no latex, no skin oil, etc. I use acetone-resistant materials that will not impress any surface scratches.
A method I have been fine tuning over the years. Please feel free to inquire for more information).
Each side of the coin was given a 6-minute soak in fresh acetone (I never cross-contaminate between washing 2 different coins). I don’t ever touch the face of the coin with my fingers, nor do I use cotton swabs in any manner.
I use HDPE-based tongs to lift and hold the coin, using a digital heat gun, at 80C / 176F to encourage evaporating all remaining moisture, prior to placing in a 2.5x2.5in Mylar flip (brand: SAFLIP) as recommended by most grading companies.
For any reason, if you are discontent with your purchase, I am happy to take the coin back, but the buyer must cover shipping, unless I am at fault for inaccurate information. Just shoot me a message if you have any issues, I will do what I can to help.
